Our site has three scales, the whole city, Port du Rhin, and a mobility hub. The port is located between the cities of Strasbourg and Kehl, which has the most potential to create an urban connection between the East bank and the West bank of the Rhine river. The project aims to transform the harbour, no longer a monofuntional site, into an upgrated hybrid territory, making portuary activity and urban life compatible within one single area.

The regeneration of Port du Rhin will be a paradigm for other ports located at the north and south of Port du Rhin and finally in 2040, we expect that the new way of harbour regeneration conducted in all these ports will irrigate and affect the existing city-industry relationship, to create and form a network of green mobility, energy and active life in the metropolitan area.

For the Port du Rhin, we draw several key elements focusing on the relation between city space and health. It will be a environmental-friendly port with green transportation, high functional variety and density,  advanced proximity and connectivity.

On a smaller scale, considering the green belt through a healthy urban design approach, we imagine a C0-living hub which is a mobility infrastructure with mixed-use and high density. The concept of C0-living has 2 meanings: firstly, it suggests staying in a harmonious relationship with each urban element; secondly, C0 also stands for carbon-zero, meaning that all the activities will try to reduce emission as much as possible.
