How to design a new type of boulevard that meets the requirement of a multi-level structured public space with open sky?
The project proposes a kind of "urban canyon", a multi-level linear connection between two subway stations located in the World Expo area, and parallel to the eastern bank of the Huangpu River. It irrigates the new high-rise neighborhoods while building a public space shaped by the flows. Pedestrian spaces, motorized streets and aerial tramways are superimposed, thus multiplying the city's levels.
