Study on the Methods and Technics of Urban and Rural Community Renewal based on Social Network Analysis

Taking four types of Large-scale communities which are undergoing regeneration process, including historical district, Danwei compound, indemnificatory communities, and village, this research attempts to address social network as a key aspect for community regeneration through 4 aspects: First are the value and mechanism of the social network in the different stages of community regeneration. The second is the correlation analysis of the spatial elements and residential-social-network elements. The third is the adoption of Social Network Analysis (SNA) to the commercial areas, public facilities, and public spaces in the communities to evaluate the social performance and adjust the initial planning. Last is to work out the planning methods and design guidelines for the communities.
