Study on the Coupling Degree between Urban Polycentric System and Rail Transit
This study provides a quantitative method to measure the coupling degree between rail transit and urban center system. By studying the factors influencing the coupling degree, it is proposed that: (1) Because of the "rigidity" of employment activities and the "flexibility" of recreational activities, more attention should be paid to the supporting role of rail transit for employment center system. (2) Rail transit should be strengthened to support the main radiation areas of employment centers. (3) High-level rail transit services should be regarded as the basic prerequisite for the development of employment centers and industrial parks with advanced producer service. (4) Disorderly competition caused by over-construction of public centers should be avoided.
This study calls for rail transit planning to be coordinated with urban center system planning, and the coordination of the two plans must run through the whole planning process.
