Social-cohesive-oriented gathering place research in high-dense residential compound

Nowadays the relationship among the neighbours in the development of the residential compound influenced by modernism has become more alienated compared to the traditional neighborhood. The research finds that a considerable number of residents still want the closer relationship among the neighbours for security, social capital and psychological emotion for different age-groups. Based on the rational, the research attempts to discover the physical design elements and its structural features to help prove the social relationship in the community by the cases study in the high-dense residential compound. It also elaborates the characteristics of the concept, the Third Place Based on the one Oldenburg raised, and measures its variables in order to put up with the universal principles for urban design.
