Year
27/03/2018

Atelier Franco-Chinois organisé par la Chaire IMM-UMR AUSSER-SASS, Institut d’Etudes Avancées    The workshop "Mirroring Paris / Shanghai " is aligned with the current French national policy of strengthening French partnerships with China. During the state visit of 8-10 January 2018, the President of the People's Republic of China and the President of the French Republic jointly decided to increase the level of the overall French-Chinese strategic partnership based on: the common will to act and to deepen cooperation for the environment and to fight against climate change; the launching of a "French-Chinese Year on the Environment" in order to reinforce dialogue on the subjects concerned and to imlement joint projects on sustainable cities; strengthening cooperation in scientific research and innovation in all areas. Organized within the framework of the "Innovative Metropolitan Mobility" Chair, with the support of UMR AUSSER, SASS Shanghai and IEA of Paris, the Workshop is consistent with the "Paris, mirrored cities" program (MSH, 2007-2009) and offers the opportunity to launch a new IMM Chair program on the comparison of Paris and Shanghai 2035 urban planning scenarios, focusing on innovative mobility. The workshop will be held in the presence of a Chinese delegation of experts and politicians from Shanghai Municipality and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, who will present ongoing work related to the "Shanghai 2035" scenario. A comparative/mirroring approach will be introduced via Parisian urban developments related to mobility and the Grand Paris scenarios, focusing on the evolution of urban centralities of the first and second metropolitan belts and the presentation of the actions carried out by the Ateliers de maitrise d’oeuvre urbaine.
