The A7 freeway in Marseilles belongs to the infrastructures built in the 1970's whose obsolescence is announced. The project proposes a contemporary reappropriation of this linear space which has a real potential of urbanity. The proposal is a sequence composed of destroyed highway sections and preserved sections in order to gain elevated vegetated spaces in the heart of Marseille. A major cultural building is planned to meet the urgent needs of the northern districts which are currently under-equipped. The project, in addition to its urban and territorial dimension, deals with a building that includes a swimming pool, a library, a cinema and housing.
