Already in the 1990s, digital technology, with its information highways, had changed the way we look at these structures, which have built the territory over the centuries. In the age of the resilient city, where the challenge is to fight against soil artificialisation and hyper-urbanisation, the idea of a living infrastructure is gaining ground. We are far from the 'megamachine' identified by Lewis Mumford or the 'megastructure' of Reyner Banham.
